Load Impact allows for free to test its site and its servers, and you pay little, you can access even harder tests on all your sites. But for general use is the free version good enough, although I pay for the change even harder tests as we have over 2,500 users on the DPF, so it’s nice to know that we can “handle success” so to say.
What surprises most is that it actually is my MacMini server here at my room, running Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server on a 20 / 2 Mbit line to be best and which handles many users perfectly.
Actual result could not be better, since the curve shows that no matter how many simultaneous users, so handle server it perfectly and without a murmur.
It is somewhat amazing that a little machine can handle it so well, and it says something about how great Mac OS X as a server OS. Even more surprising is the fact that I am running web server, MySQL, file server, Wikis, Blogs, Podcast server and several other things on the machine simultaneously. Actually, I could run the entire Danish PSP Forum on the machine without it would feel a difference when they are performing tests better than our “right” web host.
