My column in today’s newspaper about the upcoming browser choice. All users of Internet Explorer (IE) are allowed to choose between varieties of other browsers.
To create a more competitive situation, since IE is pre-installed with Windows. Read more about the election process here.
But what do you choose? Know remarks, that are around 20 percent of the market, have already made their choice based on both personal as factual preferences.
But 80 percent of the internet users surf the web with a (often old) version of IE. Now if they would like to try something else, or simply compare – what should they choose?
First and foremost is self selection screen, providing genuine input information. And so it is best to actually try it out. It is very easy to install a new browser, and user interfaces are not so different.
There are obviously testing and reviews of browsers, but they are often difficult comparable and contained properly, a number of more subjective criteria.
The best current test series is that of Tom’s Hardware, which delivers both the overview and airy tangible results. For a more popular review with selection of reviews look here.
None of these tests, however, contains specific security, which is almost a science in itself when it comes to browsers. See a browser comparison, inc. security here. Or Cnet people informative guide to browser security here.
Use your browser and come with your good advice.
