HTC Ville Smartphones is one of the Taiwanese household must come, I discovered them a few weeks ago in a simple recreation, and now have a higher quality image with some specifications.

The most characteristic feature of this Android phone is its thickness, which is so fashionable in the world of Smartphones, but HTC is especially interested in where the terminals are not particularly thin lavish. There is talk of less than 8 mm, still far from the ends of Fujitsu.

Very likely to be presented at the Mobile World Congress 2012, we have no doubt that Ice Cream Sandwich is your operating system, along with customization HTC Sense 4.0.

Specifications that are expected:

4.3-inch screen with QHD resolution. There is talk of Super AMOLED technology, which could be just around the provision of Samsung panels to HTC.

Dual core processor at 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4.

8 megapixel camera.

Support Beats.

Battery of 1,650 mAh.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is a true reflection, along with Motorola Defy, that having an advanced smartphone is not incompatible with being careless in their handling. This phone is shock resistant, dust and water (not waterproof) is ideal for those who want to give everything to your phone every day and not think or care or special cases.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active has a design that seems very attractive, strong but without falling into exaggeration, with bright colors and many special touches to your specifications to make it even more attractive.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Active, features:

Phone dust and water-resistant

Processor 1 GHz (1 core)

512 Mb RAM

3 inch (Reality Display)

Barometer and Compass

ANT + compatible

5 megapixel camera

Android 2.3

Sony Ericsson Xperia First Active is a smartphone but with details that make a mobile vehicle, such that no matter stain, soil, pull the ground or take to the beach or pool.

The phone has a compact design does not slim (16.5 mm), weighing 111 grams, but with dedicated space for a wrist strap, for example. The screen is three inches and the resolution does not impress this time: 320 x 480 pixels. From what Sony Ericsson has not forgotten is putting on Mobile Bravia Engine technology to your desktop Reality Display.

A peculiarity of the screen, capacitive, is that in theory allows us to use it with wet fingers, a great idea.

As a processor model includes a 1 GHz single core with 512 MB of RAM and 1 GB of internal, but ultimately for the consumer only about 300 MB left free, but we can expand with microSD memory cards.

In the section, we find WiFi connectivity, DLNA, GPS, and a barometer, compass, ANT + technology. As for the battery capacity is 1200 mAh, which seems little value for a terminal that wants to be adventurous.

As Android operating system uses 2.3 with a strong component of sports, as iMapMyFitness. And the media, including a camera of 5 megapixel with LED flash and simple video recording at 720p.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Active, price and availability

The arrival of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Active is planned for the fourth quarter with a price that has not yet been announced. The colors will be available differentiating the bands are just two: black back cover with orange, white, and black casing. In both cases comes standard with a second cover for the rear.

Also in the package, will, among other accessories, a carrying pouch for convenient arm and a wrist strap.

Sony Ericsson W8 is the first Walkman phone series that focuses on the Android operating system, an issue that brings value to multimedia mobile to a higher level, thanks to the ecosystem that comes to Google.

The Smartphone has many similarities with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, a mid-range terminal with which it shares much of the hardware, and inexplicably, operating system version. Presented with Android 2.1, when the rest of the family and comes with Gingerbread, does not seem the right thing.

Accompanying we customize Android Sony Ericsson Timescape, but to get the smaller size of screen, plays with shortcuts in the four corners (we met on the Xperia X10 mini), and proprietary applications such as the Walkman and TrackID.

The phone features a 3-inch capacitive screen, HVGA resolution (320 × 480 pixels), has 128MB of internal memory, expandable via microSD up to 16GB, necessary if our focus will be to use multimedia.

Following the specifications, we have a 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi connectivity, GPS, and FM radio, all governed by a 600MHz processor. We ended by their contained dimensions 99.0 × 54.0 × 15.0 mm, and 104 grams.

The new Walkman will be a choice of three colors you can see in the pictures: Azure Blue, Metallic Red, Orange and Iconic. Typical wear the logo of the series, as well as being accompanied by headphones MH410 of the joint venture.

Ari Hakkarainen Times newspaper said that Nokia was ready to stay ahead of Apple back in 2004 with a phone based on the same ideas as the iPhone, ie touch technology that filled the front of the phone and app store and content.

Why not put on the market was the high price that terminal would have on the market and costly full development of the idea. The market is still not considered attractive or mature. I say, if I had the idea, why wait to get a smartphone with which to compete at the highest level?

I do not know what you have done your Wednesday, but I have tested the iPad. True enough, a bit faster, just enough time to run some applications load a web page, besides that of TF1News [memo: good news, the site is compatible iPad], and found that the experience is as fast as fluid as the demonstrations of Steve Jobs on stage.

No need to also spend hours: As Jobs pointed out, for anyone of the 75 million owners of iPod Touch or iPhone, take control of the iPad is an immediate natural and confusing. The screen is beautiful, everything is very readable, a perfect example of the integration of material well, and a slick software, in a pleasing design. No surprise, it is Apple.

However, once the euphoria of the keynote followed live, evidence is emerging: the iPad is not blameless … First, strong consensus on Twitter (new global consciousness of the world of technology) which is the student who has forgotten the integrated camera? Too bad, promise – finally – be able to make video-conference between iPad and iPhones would act as demo kills. It would also avoid the ridiculous to Stéphane Richard, the next boss of Orange, who definitely looks like a boy a bit too verbose (when he releases the song on the release of the iPad two weeks ago at Micro Europe 1) but not necessarily very well informed, when he promises that its customers will make video calls with the tablet … so has no camera. But let …

Another disappointment: the lack of connections. Only plug the iPad: its 30-pin socket, standard music players and smartphones from Apple. Problem: if the iPad is not a big iPods, so it’s a computer, which can happen with a USB port, or an SD card reader. There will be many solutions, like adapters to copy photos on a iPad without necessarily passing through a computer, but you could expect better, or more. Question to both opening of the machine, and a design that could be taken too distorted.

No video output either? Too bad, especially for a machine to find its place on a coffee table, watching TV. Especially as this connection there could be done without compromising the design of the tablet, the wireless video technologies now exist which allow one second to share the content posted by iPad, on the flat screen of the show.

No multitasking. Defensible on a player, more annoying on a phone, and instead shifted to a machine that is essentially a computer touchscreen. With gigahertz under the hood, it may however run some software in parallel, no?

There is also the virtual keyboard displayed by the touch screen. Bigger, more practical, less prone to typos than the iPhone, but not a panacea. First, anathema, it will watch your fingers to type. It will especially not rest your wrists on the machine, not to disturb the touch screen. Try typing for five minutes, keeping the wrist in the air, and you will understand the limits of the exercise. In the words of Steve Jobs, if you type on your Crime and Punishment iPad, you buy the keyboard though physical suggested as an option. Sign that the Touch is, to type, a stopgap.

But in fact, the iPad is really the ideal machine to read Crime and Punishment? Things to see and use even if the LCD and its backlight is not an ideal contrast, clarity or autonomy in the face of tablets e-Ink technology from Sony, Amazon, or Bookeen. But what makes iPad more, and better than the lights eBook creates a gap which makes comparison difficult.

And just so that I plunged since the conference in the depths of confusion, it seems that the iPad miss uses made for him on the measures. The electronic book is wonderful, but this is not where the machine is more to his advantage that traditional e-books can not do is display magazines, comics, manga, short, graphical content, and color. I guess by the interface … Above all, economically, to invent the digital kiosk is for Apple a massive source of income and regular, and a boon to publishers who suddenly find ways to adapt the sales number (and why not subscribe) to the digital consumer. I can not imagine Apple not think there is or there is already working. If the kiosk is missing, so there are reasons. I know them both.

However, there are plenty of things to celebrate in the iPad. Some surprising features for an Apple machine, like the temptation of opening that are advertised using ePub format for eBooks. ePub, a format from the free software, far more open than the standard used by the competitor Amazon.

Another surprise: The end of exclusives with mobile operators. The iPad 3G (an option at $ 130 U.S.) will not simlock, not stuck on a single operator, regardless of the country where they are sold.

Review: A beautiful machine, small disappointments, a few shortcomings, but nothing definitive. Maybe we did the nose too close to the glass (touch, obviously), to understand the impact of the iPad, which beyond the geeks and fanboys of the church Apple, which would buy a cinder block at 500 euros it was struck by the apple logo, will convince the “real people”, the less picky, but more likely to understand the immediate benefits of the machine. The iPad might well be the ideal machine for those “late-adopters, a simple way for them to access information without having to pass the daunting barrier of the computer, even if it is a Mac. A computer for those who do not like computers …

But there is still the impression that he lacked the dull keynote by Steve Jobs when a real “wow”, a killer application as they say, something never seen elsewhere, that makes tomorrow is forever different is tod ‘hui. A wow who would have to wait a little: let us not forget that Apple has often used the first version of its consumer devices such as test-size: Remember the first iPhone was released without App Store, only to find that example.

And perhaps in the end, precisely, the period of two months between now announcing the iPad its arrival in store will fill some of these shortcomings, especially later uses, today’s announcement is thought to bring the fire under the feet of developers and publishers. I content myself until my iPad Mini … Finally, I mean, my iPod Touch.

It is only half years ago, Google’s operating system for smartphones unveiled, and today Android stands at 100,000 new users a day.

New figures from research firm Gartner tells of a market share just under 10 percent of the global smartphone market, against 1.6 percent the year before.

Growth for the iPhone and Android

Thus it has been overtaken Microsoft, whose Windows Mobile has been available since 2003. Android is now on a global fourth place and can eye the next two in the box, iPhone and BlackBerry. First place is held remains of Symbian, Nokia’s operating system.

But the only ones that can produce growth – the smartphone market, the fastest growing in the mobile world – is Apple and Google. The North American market has overtaken Android iPhone and now has a market share of 26.6 percent against Apple’s 22.1.

There is for me to see no longer doubt that Android will be available in the final, where the final battle for tomorrow’s mobile market is being fought. Who opponent, maybe there will be two, will, however, is less certain.

Nokia’s Symbian still has a comfortable conveyance, but does not seem up in the same gear as Google and Apple. And so you should never underestimate Microsoft, however, have a much worse starting point than Symbian, as the figures above tells. Software giant has focused mostly on the new Windows 7 Phone, coming on the market later this year.

Open source has been essential

Back to Android, in addition to that haunted the mobile market also has had time to spread to other platforms. E-readers as Nook from U.S. Barnes & Noble running Android, and last week came the launch of Google TV, a television platform built on Android.

Continuing Android rates, we can get hold of the new Windows in a mobile multiplatform world. But how is Android come so far in so short a time? Here are some suggestions.

The alliances, officially it is not Google, which is behind Android, but the Open Handset Alliance, which counts a number of important players from the mobile value chain, including HTC, Samsung, Intel and Nvidia. Thus, Google has had collaborators to include development and distribution. Hardware Manufacturers such as HTC and Samsung have also proved more than willing to lead Android products and run large marketing campaigns.

Development Model, by contrast, the hardware manufacturers did not have to fork out when it came to using Android. The system is free and open source, which has proved a great advantage. With open source, where all developers can participate, Google has been able to achieve the volume and speed, which would have been difficult to achieve in a single company. Model’s success obviously depends on how many developers we can attract, but here Google has shown great energy and inventiveness to please the developer community.

Resources, Google itself has also moved quickly. It has had a strategic focus on mobile market and has internally allocated good resources to Android. The search giant has been very aggressive in its promotion of Android, and has even tried it with his own phone, Nexus One.

Can others learn from Google and Android, or have they just been lucky?

The world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones has been difficult in the fastest growing market, smartphones, where high-profile companies like Google and Apple frolicking. Nokia has even been blamed for the market does not grow faster in 2009.

But that should not be in 2010, Nokia has launched a large and costly offensive to assert itself and gain market share. Most conspicuous is the introduction of free GPS on all Nokia’s smartphones, in 74 countries and 46 languages.

Previously, Nokia users had to buy for example, turn-by-turn directions and additional map data, but now the entire package for free. And as linings Nokia delivers integrated city guides, including from Lonely Planet.

Where will the money come from?

Good news for the many Nokia users and an indication of developments in the mobile Internet. In the traditional internet we see now more and more content providers, especially news media, oppose free-wave.

With media mogul Rupert Murdoch at the head will again take money for news content. Most recently, the “world’s greatest newspaper” New York Times also joined the payment team.

But on the mobile Internet is apparently the other way. Nokia delivers free content and hopes to make money on activities outside of the content. Sales of telephones, advertising and an apps store on GPS platform.

Who is on track? Perhaps it contains the mobile Internet more advertising revenue because of the many possibilities of location-based services? How will it look when the mobile Internet, as expected, becomes dominant?

Difficult for stand-alone

Nokia’s offensive also points to a second trend which I have already touched on: Software victory once. As the hardware lifecycle rolls out, the hardware becomes more and more similar in appearance and performance, and the focus shifted from the individual phone software platform.

We have less need for stand-alone products such as MP3 players and GPS receivers, because one piece of hardware that can handle more and more. Why buy a GPS receiver, when your Nokia smartphone is broadly the same?

GPS manufacturers like TomTom and Garmin stuck in their hardware and now need to see the market move to another platform. The stock market reacted as also prompt the Nokia news by cutting 11 percent of TomTom’s stock.

In 2008, sold half a million GPS receivers in Denmark. Whiting you stick with your receiver, or pour you for smartphone solution?

The second line of this title includes, “And Why the iPhone Is Not Successful in Japan.”
Show the iPhone to a typical Japanese and he will not be awed by its touchscreen, its 2.0-megapixel camera, or its integration with iPod. He will instead ask a lot of questions.

“Does it send MMS (multimedia message service)?”
“Can I use it as a debit card?”
“If I turn my phone away from my face, does it automatically shut the call?”
“Will it survive even if I drop it and a truck would run over it?”

Obviously, the answers are No. But why those silly questions, you ask? Actually, a “typical” Japanese smartphone can do all those and even more.

Even though the Japanese are less than half compared to the number of Americans in the United States, more than twice as many Japanese use smartphones than in America. And those mobile phones are used extensively. The Japanese can do so much with their phones, while the Americans can only use theirs to make calls: E-mail your friends in 1999, take photos from your phone in 2000, make video calls in 2001, download your favorite music in 2002, buy food from vending machines in 2004, and watch digital TV in 2005.

So with all these advanced features that an average American has yet to experience in his own smartphone, why do Japanese cellphones are not successful at hitting the international market? They actually have a term for it: Galapagos Syndrome. Their phones have become way too advanced that the rest of the world just could not keep up.

Despite these sophisticated features, the Japanese phone makers have also overlooked features that the overseas market seeks in their smartphones. Japanese phones have clunky user interfaces, usually accessing menus after several keystroke combinations (a “status symbol” in Japan, bothersome everywhere else); you cannot synchronize these phones to a PC; and the clamshell design is not favored outside Japan.

In contrast, if these Japanese mobile phones were to be distributed in the United States, some tech analysts believe that these advanced features would simply be “locked” by whoever network carrier, turning them into “premium services” that you need to pay more to enjoy.
